1:7. রাজা হবার বিষযটা নিয়ে তিনি সরূযার পুত্র য়োয়াব ও যাজক অবিয়াথরের সঙ্গে পরামর্শও সেরে ফেললেন| তারা তাঁকে নতুন রাজা হতে সাহায্য করার সিদ্ধান্ত নিল|
